(April 26, 2013) – After a successful partnership in the first three rounds of the IZOD IndyCar Series season, including primary sponsorship for Mike Conway’s entry in Long Beach, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) and blu eCigs are expanding their involvement together. blu eCigs, the electronic cigarette brand widely known for superior style and quality, will become primary sponsor of the No. 15 entry for Graham Rahal in the Sao Paulo Indy 300 in Brazil and will increase its involvement in the 97th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race to major associate sponsor with enhanced branding on the race car.

Michel Jourdain Jr. Returns to RLL for the 2013 Indy 500; Office Depot Mexico to Again Sponsor Entry

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 23, 2013) – It was announced today in Mexico City that Michel Jourdain Jr., who brought Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Indy car wins in Montreal and Milwaukee Champ Car World Series races in 2003, and who drove for the team in the 2012 Indianapolis 500 will again join the team for the 2013 500-mile event.  Office Depot Mexico returns as the primary sponsor of Jourdain’s No. 17 entry and Grupo Indi and Grupo Multi return as associate sponsors.

BMW Team RLL Finishes 1-2 at Long Beach; Z4 GTE Wins in Only Second Race of Debut Season

Woodcliff Lake, N.J. - April 20, 2013 . . . The streets of Long Beach, California continue to be the favorite stomping grounds of BMW Team RLL as they finished 1-2 in today’s American Le Mans at Long Beach race. In only the second race for the new BMW Z4 GTE, the team beat a very competitive GT class field with excellent strategy set in place during the first hour of the two-hour contest around the 1.968-mile, 11-turn temporary street circuit. BMW Team RLL has finished with at least one car on the Long Beach podium, including a win from the pole in 2011, for five consecutive years. Today’s victory puts BMW in a tie with Chevrolet at the top of the GT Class Manufacturer points. The win was also the first for the new BMW-Michelin partnership.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 17, 2013) – Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) announced today that Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with the IndyCar Series team. Klipsch will serve as the "Official Audio & Headphone Partner" of RLL and become an associate sponsor of the No. 15 Indy car driven by Graham Rahal in the IZOD IndyCar Series.

RLL Expands to Three Indy Car Entries for Their 14th Toyota GP of Long Beach Event; And Five Total

The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach (TGPLB) marks the team’s 14th time to compete in the event and their second since 2003 when Michel Jourdain, Jr. won pole, led a race high 48 laps and was in the lead when his car stuck in gear on his final stop with seven laps to go and ultimately retired in 15th place.  Although the team didn’t compete in Indy car races here from 2004-2011 while they fielded a fulltime entry in the Indy Racing League (2004-2008), they did compete in the 2003 and 2004 Atlantic races with Danica Patrick and in the 2007 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) race. In 2009, the team returned to the streets of Long Beach in the ALMS with BMW Team RLL and finished on the podium each year since then including a win in 2011 with Joey Hand and Dirk Müller. 

Long Beach Next for BMW Team RLL Z4 GTE Debut Season

Woodcliff Lake, N.J. – April 16, 2013... BMW Team RLL travels to Long Beach, California on April 20th for the second round of the 2013 American Le Mans Series season and the next act in the debut season of the BMW Z4 GTE.

Rahal Dropped from 12th to 21st After Running out of Fuel on the Final Lap of the Honda Indy GP of Alabama; Jakes Finished 23rd After Problems

SUMMARY: Graham Rahal started 21st in the 90-lap race but made contact with Servia on the opening lap when the field checked up. He had to pit for a new front wing and returned to the track in 25th place. He worked his way into a solid finishing position of 12th place but ran out of fuel on the final lap and coasted to the checkered flag in 21st.  James Jakes started 11th and was in 12th place when he reported a problem with the rear of the car early in the race. After stops on Laps 10 and 11 it was determined that the camber shims had fallen out of the left rear upright. Once that was fixed, he returned to the track two laps down in 25th place. He soldiered on and ran the fastest lap of the race near the end of the event and finished 23rd.

Acorn Stairlifts Driver Jakes to Start 11th for the Honda Indy GP of Alabama; Midas / Big O Tires Driver Rahal to Start 21st

SUMMARY: Graham Rahal set the 11th fastest lap in Group 1, Round 1 and did not advance to Round 2. Near the end of his run, he was on what was his fastest lap to that point and closed on a car that had ended his run and Graham’s overall lap time suffered. His best lap time would have allowed him to advance to Round 2 had he been in Group 2. James Jakes advanced from Round 1, Group 2 to Round 2 by setting the fifth fastest lap time (1:07.54). In Round 2, Jakes set the 12th fastest lap time to earn his best starting position at this track.

Rahal and Jakes Looking Forward to Returning to Barber Motorsports Park for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama

The 2013 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama will mark the second IndyCar Series race for the team at Barber Motorsports Park (BMP).  Last year the team prepared an entry for Takuma Sato here. For 2013, RLLR has entered the No. 15 Midas / Big O Tires car for Graham Rahal and the No. 16 Acorn Stairlifts car for James Jakes to bring the team’s total to three entries for this event. The team will attempt to break the stronghold Team Penske has on this event.  In the three IndyCar events held here since 2010, Team Penske drivers have won pole and the race each year.

Rahal Completed His First 2013 IndyCar Oval Test at TMS And Ran A Total of 94 Trouble-Free Laps

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 28, 2013) – Graham Rahal completed a trouble-free day of testing his No. 15 Midas / Big O Tires Honda-Dallara-Firestone race car last night at the 1.5-mile high-banked Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) oval.  He completed 94 laps between 2-10 p.m. CT with a best lap time of 214.058 mph.
