Tom Milner joins Rahal Letterman Racing for the team’s inaugural season in the American Le Mans Series GT2 class. Although he is just 21 years of age, Milner brings a lifetime of motorsports experience to RLR. Milner is the son of Team PTG President Tom Milner who has been involved in sports car racing dating back to the late 60s. Growing up around the track, the younger Milner has gained experience beyond his years.
Milner started his road in racing in karting and by 2004 he had captured one of the six scholarships for the inaugural Formula BMWUSA season. After finishing eighth overall in the FBMWUSA championship and fourth in the rookie points, the 18-year-old Milner jumped into the Rolex Series GT class for Team PTG and ran the final three races of the 2004 season capturing two pole positions and a GT class win at California Speedway. A full Rolex Series GT class season run with Team PTG in 2005 netted three wins and seven podiums results. He moved to the ALMS joining Multimatic Motorsport Team Panoz in 2006 and turned in a strong, but winless, rookie season.
The combination of young Tom Milner and veteran Ralf Kelleners should give RLR a wealth of experience and talent as the team makes it debut in the ultra-competitive GT2 class of the American Le Mans Series.
